  2. Intravenous lipid emulsion therapy – to help bind and eliminate fat‑soluble toxins (theobromine).
  3. Supportive care: anticonvulsants (diazepam, phenobarbital), IV fluids, cardiac monitoring.

There is no specific antidote – lipid support is critical.

🛑 Prevention

  • Keep all dark chocolate, baking chocolate, cocoa powder, and cocoa butter securely locked away.
  • Never leave chocolate desserts or raw chocolate mass within a dog’s reach.

🐶 Dark chocolate is not candy – it is a potent poison. Even a small piece can kill a medium‑sized dog.
